The article mentions a scenic turn-out known as "the height of land" on route 17 where you can see five different lakes and plenty of mountains. This turn-out is on the National Scenic Byways of route 4 and 17, which passes through the Rangeley Lake region. The town of Rangeley was also recently named as one of America's best summer lake towns of 2010 by the online edition of Frommer's Budget Travel magazine in July 2010.
